BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
In 1996, a committee was formed to study, analyze, and propose plans
for the “New Center Project.” The committee was responsible for
determining the requirements for a new Masjid and Activity Center.
After much deliberation and informed discussion, a Master Plan was
formulated for the new complex. Following are the highlights of that
Master Plan:
- Phase I: Select land (a minimum of 5 acres considering future growth of the community and expansion of the facilities), agree on price, enter into contract, and close the deal.
- Phase II: Build a multi-purpose facility that can serve the immediate needs of the community. This facility will be used for the educational and recreational activities of our youth, as well as to serve as the main prayer hall for, at least, some time to come.
- Phase III: Expand to build a full-time school and related amenities.
- Phase IV: Expand to build a Masjid proper and continue to use the multi-purpose facility as a community hall for social and cultural events. (Community get-togethers, weddings, guest lectures and conferences, etc.)
- Phase V: Build a hostel, or similar facility, for use by our “Senior Citizens.”
- Phase VI: Build a funeral home and provide for related facilities.
- Phase VII: Build a banquet hall and related amenities.
